Switchfoot Faves
I was watching (kind of) A Walk To Remember yesterday and Only Hope started playing and I just had to stop what I was doing and listened. I’ve seen the movie before but I guess I wasn’t paying much attention to the soundtrack so I missed this. I liked Mandy Moore’s version of Only Hope but the original by Switchfoot had me this time; I couldn’t stop listening to it. The instrumental (is that what you call it?) is beautiful and the voice of a man is more natural for the song.
I also love Switchfoot’s Dare You To Move. When you’re at rock-bottom it helps to have something that pushes you up without the pretensions of understanding and the process of justifying yourself. It gets tiring and sometimes you just have to be alone with your thoughts. I learned that I don’t owe anyone. I only owe myself.
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Teka. Seryoso much? hahaha. If you feel like listening, I have the 2 songs in our music corner. Enjoy

Old Pictures
Look at what I found in my photos directory…
1. In Luneta Park, supposedly doing a project hehehe

2. Ann’s House

3. Smile!

4. Hmmm…hehehe

5. Sa kanan muna Jay

6. Sa kaliwa naman. hahaha.

7. Mga bata pasaway, taken about 8 years ago…

8. In Laguna, with relatives and neighbors.
Duon ako sa left-hand side nanlulunod ng pinsan.

Hahaha. Saya saya. It’s funny how I used to look at these photos and I would be sad, even cry during my first year here in NJ. Now I have a big, goofy smile on my face and I feel all warm and fuzzy. I had a great childhood and many great people were in it. xoxo

Google Ads
I deleted my ads from the site because they are not behaving well. Bwisit. One of them is coming up blank on my pages for reasons I don’t have the time to find right now. It’s starting to get annoying so the temporary solution is the Delete button.

After One Week of Classes
“Let me give you pain to relieve your pain.”
hehehe. One of the instructors said this when she was explaining that there are not a lot of pain medications given IM (intramuscular-ly) because this particular kind of injection is very painful. Anyway, it was funny when she said it. Of course, it’s not as funny now that I’m repeating it.
We are doing an OB rotation this semester. Yay! I’m excited and this might be a type of nursing that I would want to pursue, but I’m not sure about anything yet. They showed us a video about newborn assessment and I wanna be the one who rolls her eyes while everyone is going “aw” every time the baby cries or makes these cute, little sounds, but, you know it, I was one of the aw-ers. Couldn’t help it. I just thought that if I ended up working in OB or Pediatrics, it would be heartbreaking if, you know… Let’s not talk about this…
So yun, my calendar is full. And after 2 semesters I know now to stop doing things last minute and cause even more stress to myself. I really don’t have the time to complain of boredom. Halata ba I’m happy about school starting? hehehe.
As my cousin have repeatedly told me - “You’re a geek, Ate Lorie.”
And I would answer - “Thanks!” (no sarcasm)
Syempre, I’m also happy to see the friendly folks at school. Let’s just see if I’m still this enthusiastic after the first exam or in 2 weeks when clinical (gulp) starts.

Playlist Update
These songs are from my college days in the Philippines…
1) …save Somewhere in Between by Lifehouse which I only heard sometime last month. I looked it up and Wikipedia says it was released on 2001 hmmm. Late lang ako.
2) Iris by Goo Goo Dolls. Remember City of Angels?
Love the song and the movie.
3) My Sacrifice by Creed. This one is personal, in more ways than one.
4) Creep by Radiohead. A song that’s just impossible to miss and not to like.
5) Blurry by Puddle of Mudd. I used to just casually listen to this one but I heard it at work earlier and found a new appreciation for it.
Everything’s so blurry
Everyone’s so fake
And everybody’s empty
And everything is so messed up
Preoccupied without you
I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl…
