Out In The Cold

Last summer my brother and I bought cacti. We thought they were ideal “pets”: cute and easy to take care of. But Mama found out that cacti are bad luck for the house (my family likes feng shui), so they were banished to the backyard and were placed in my Uncle’s summer garden.

Now it’s winter :( …we shoveled snow earlier and I saw them and I couldn’t help feeling sad.
